The Agricultural Extension in South Asia organised workshops, a networking event and published various outputs during October 2017 – March 2018.
AESA in collaboration with the Centre for Research on Innovation and Science Policy (CRISP), the Indian Agricultural Extension Network (IAEN) and the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) organized a workshop on ‘Promoting The New Extensionist Learning Kit’. It took place on the 5th and 6th of October, 2017 at MANAGE, Hyderabad, India. Twenty-five trainers/faculty members engaged in capacity development of extension professionals during the workshop.
From 14 to 16 February, 2018, AESA participated in the National Workshop on ‘Agricultural Extension in India: Time to Change’ and led the session on reforming extension curricula in Indian Universities. This workshop was organized by MANAGE, Hyderabad.
AESA and Bangladesh Agricultural Extension Network (BAEN) jointly organized two workshops in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 10 and 11 March 2018.
Topics of discussion were the New Extensionist Learning Kit (NELK) and writing Good Practice notes on extension and advisory services.
The first, country meeting of the Sri Lanka National Network of Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services took place on 22nd November 2017 in Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. AESA participated in this event.
AESA also participated in a workshop on the ‘Governance Structure and Processes for the APIRAS Network’ on 22nd and 23rd January 2018 in Indonesia.
AESA, through its web portal (www.aesa-gfras.net), published nine blogs, one good practice note, eight meeting notes and one book review during the past six months (October 2017-March 2018). The AESA Facebook group currently has more than 19,470 members. We are using the Facebook group, LinkedIn group, Twitter handle, and the AESA email list to promote the exchange of knowledge on agricultural extension and advisory services.
